The first thing you will notice about Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse is that it is not really a typical Plopcorn film. Although we had never heard of this work of art, it became apparent quite quickly that it had a plot, some people that can act and a budget. These elements combined with a pretty funny story made this a pretty good film in it’s own right.
Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse follows the story of …some kids who are about to go to college or something (I never understand how old that makes them, I can’t really fathom out the American school years, nor the UK ones now a-days) and are also geeky scouts. A zombie outbreak forces the trio to become unlikely heroes and save the hot girl from a certain chomping death.
The film is pretty well executed with some really funny moments, it has lashings of silly gags that it does not milk too much and hit the mark. I look forward to hearing your own experience of the “Wait! that’s not his dressing gown cord” moment, a bit of cinema that will stay with me until I develop dementia.
There are also some great “odd” moments, like the Britney Spears Zombie sing-along and the Zombie dear. The one failing of the film is that the word Scout’s should have an apostrophe. I mean come on, get your act together and sort out your grammar.
So, not a Plopcorn film but a good silly comedy that hits the mark. If you like zombie films and you like a laugh then you should really give this a go! The only reason we could not score it higher was it is too polished and too good. Well worth a watch though and god bless Officer Hottie.
